David Martin FCSI

David Martin is a technology executive, educator and fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment who has spent more than two decades delivering secure, resilient digital platforms in high‑pressure, highly regulated environments. His career spans health, government, fintech and community organisations, with a consistent focus on privacy, safety, governance and the practical use of emerging technologies, including AI.

As a CIO and Director ICT, David has led major digital transformation programs, moving technology functions from reactive support to strategic, service‑led teams that are trusted by executives and frontline staff. He specialises in cloud‑native systems, cyber security uplift, real‑time data platforms and complex integration, particularly where regulatory compliance and public confidence are critical.

David is also an educator. He has taught Machine Learning and Data Analytics at the University of Western Australia and regularly presents on topics such as DevOps in crisis response, AI in financial markets and the future of digital compliance. His teaching and speaking work reflect a commitment to making advanced technology accessible, understandable and useful for practitioners and leaders.

Beyond technology, David is an ultra‑marathon runner and active member of the trail running community, including leadership involvement with AUTRA. The mindset required for long‑distance running informs his work: resilience under pressure, careful risk management, and steady, disciplined progress toward ambitious goals.

Across all of these domains, David’s focus is on building high‑performing teams, mentoring emerging leaders and delivering digital solutions that are both innovative and responsible.
